Dr. Carlos Martinez
Dr. Martinez is a professor of anthropology and latin american studies at University of California, Santa Cruz. Dr. Martinez’s research explores the health consequences and sociocultural implications of the deportation regime, asylum deterrence policies, the global drug war, and emergent forms of migrant captivity in the U.S.-Mexico borderlands.
Fred Glass
Fred B. Glass is the former Communications Director for the California Federation of Teachers and currently an Instructor of Labor and Community Studies at City College of San Francisco. He is the author of From Mission to Microchip: A History of the California Labor Movement and the producer of Golden Lands, Working Hands, a 10-part documentary video series on California labor history, and has a real grasp on how labor organizing history stretching back more than a hundred years applies to the here and now.
